SAINT FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Most of these Features are NOT found on AR’s of the SAINT’s Price Point…
The SAINT includes:
The SAINT has a properly “staked” receiver extension nut, which prevents the receiver extension (also known as the “Buffer Tube”) from loosening from extended firing sessions. This is a feature missing from many high price point AR-15’s. The SAINT’s receiver extension/ buffer tube is Mil Spec in its diameter allowing it to fit all of the popular after market butt stocks.
The SAINT barrel has a 5.56 mm NATO chamber and features a 1/8 twist rifling ideally suited for any bullet weight and does particularly well with the popular heavier 77 grain bullets in use today. The barrel is Melonite finished in the chamber and bore. Many experts believe that Melonite coating is superior to traditional hard chroming found in many AR-15s.
The SAINT uses a Full Auto Carrier. A Full Auto Carrier is the proper weight as originally designed for the AR-15/ M16. Utilizing a full auto carrier ensures that the reciprocating mass (bolt, carrier, buffer, action spring, etc.) work properly and results in increased reliability and durability. The Carrier Key is gasket sealed onto the carrier, which helps ensure no gas leaks between the two parts. The Carrier key screws are properly “heavy double staked” per Mil Spec requirement. The Carrier is Melonite finished.
The SAINT Bolt is “Magnetic Particle Inspected” (MPI). An MPI bolt is test fired with a “proof round” that has almost 2 1/2 times the pressure of a standard 5.56 mm cartridge. This proof round will crack and even break into pieces a substandard bolt. After the firing of the proof round, the bolt is then subjected to the MPI test. Only after the Bolt passes the MPI test will the Bolt be marked “MPI”. The Bolt is Melonite finished.
The SAINT Firing Pin is a “full auto” Firing Pin. This is the proper Firing Pin for the AR-15 as originally designed by the inventor. This Firing Pin works more uniformly within a correctly built AR-15 rifle.
The SAINT has Dry Film Lubricant applied to the inside of the upper receiver and receiver extension. The application of a dry film lubricant in these two areas aids in proper break in of the weapon during initial firing and provides overall enhanced lubricity of key internal parts. This is a feature rarely if ever seen in a sub $1300 AR.
The SAINT uses a Single Stage, Nickel Boron coated trigger group. This provides a very smooth consistent trigger pull superior to the standard Mil Spec trigger. The SAINT trigger group uses a “type 1” hammer, without the unnecessary notch found on a “type 2” hammer. By utilizing a type 1 hammer the Carrier is able to cock the hammer much more smoothly then with type 2 hammers
The SAINT uses an "H" buffer. An “H” buffer is the proper weight buffer for a 16-inch barrel AR-15 carbine
The SAINT uses a front sight/ gas block that is held on with tapered pins that pass through the lower portion of its barrel. This is the most reliable and durable way of attaching a front sight/ gas block to an AR15 barrel. The barrel of the SAINT is finished underneath the gas block, which is uncommon for an AR15 at virtually any price point
The SAINT uses “M4 feed ramps” on its upper receiver and barrel extension. This feature enhances overall reliability, particularly with M855 ammunition.
The SAINT Extractor utilizes the “crane O ring”. This part provides added spring tension to the Extractor increasing fired case extraction reliability.
The SAINT has a Flip Up Rear Sight that locks in the up position. The sight has the traditional flip, 2 apertures for close and long range shooting.
The SAINT uses a “Mid Length” gas system - This length gas system offer several advantages over the traditional “Carbine Length” gas system. Mid Length gas systems reduces recoil and wear on internal parts, introduce less gas into the action so the weapon stays cleaner longer, and provides a hand guard several inches longer in length than a Carbine Gas system enabling the shooter to utilize modern shooting grips
The SAINT uses a unique tensioning screw that tightens the fit between the upper and lower receivers. This feature results in a more accurate rifle with a more “solid” feel.
The SAINT uses Bravo Company hand guard, pistol grip and butt stock. The BCM “Gunfighter” grip has less angle than a traditional AR-15 grip, which enables the shooter to support the weapon easier. The BCM hand guard has multiple Key Mod slots on both sides of the hand guard and also has a metal heat shield under the hand guard to help protect the shooters hand from barrel heat. The BCM butt stock fits snugly on the buffer tube and has angled surfaces making cheek weld acquisition very fast and comfortable for the shooter.
